Data Aggregation, Refresh, and Retrieval
What data aggregation styles are supported?
Envestnet | Yodlee supports two styles of data access. Developers can call the API to access data in real time while the user waits (“instant refresh”). Alternatively, Envestnet | Yodlee conducts a “daily refresh” cycle that updates data on an ongoing basis behind the scenes depending on user activity, e.g., every day or every few days. For a detailed understanding of daily refresh schedules, check here.
What happens if a user changes or forgets their password for a bank account?
If a user changes their credentials, Envestnet | Yodlee will not be able to retrieve data on their behalf until provided with new, valid credentials. New credentials can be captured using Yodlee FastLink. If a user forgets their password, they need to retrieve or reset it via the corresponding financial institution and then provide it through Yodlee FastLink.
Can you send push notifications for data update notifications?
We support data update notifications via webhooks whenever the platform refreshes a user’s data.
Can I get real-time data?
Envestnet | Yodlee can retrieve information in real time while the user waits after he/she provides credentials for newly added bank accounts. The API can also be configured to notify the application back end during a daily refresh cycle whenever a particular user’s data has been refreshed. This is known as synchronous data extract (SDE) and allows the application to query for the most up-to-date data.
