Building, Testing, and Deploying

What can I do with the Developer Portal sandbox environment?

The developer portal sandbox environment was created to test APIs to ensure they meet your needs. Use of the sandbox environment through the developer portal no longer has a time limit. The developer portal sandbox environment no longer supports linking to live sites. Please use the Launch environment to link live sites.

How do I build, test, and release my application?

As an Envestnet | Yodlee customer, once you register for a tier beyond the Sandbox environment, you will have access to 2 more API environments, one for development and one for production. Each environment requires separate credentials. When using JWTs for authentication in these environments, you must generate the public/private key pair and supply the public key to Yodlee. The production environment is more secure and has higher-end servers to maximize performance.

What kinds of API capabilities are configurable in production?

The Envestnet | Yodlee APIs can be configured to control how data is returned, including which containers are to be aggregated (e.g., banks, loans, credit card statements, etc.), the number of days of transaction data, whether unmasked account numbers are to be returned (only after Yodlee Security Office approval), etc. Please work with our sales and operations teams for such a custom configuration.

I want to sign up for a live environment right away. Where do I start?

Check out our pricing plans with free instant access via the Sandbox tier and other options. We have coverage from the top institutions in the United States, the U.K., and Australia. Contact the Envestnet | Yodlee sales team to connect to the rest of our 17,000+ data sources.

Do I have to test with my personal bank account?

You can use pre-registered test users in the sandbox environment along with our Test Account Generator tool to quickly link dummy accounts to those users for testing purposes. Yodlee no longer supports linking to live sites in the Sandbox environment.
